Our Organization

Vokal Akademi is built on the values and mindset of a non-profit organization. Our purpose is not profit maximization, but creating access, community, and artistic impact through collective music-making.

Social entrepreneurship does not currently exist as a defined legal status in Türkiye. Additionally, due to existing political and structural conditions, establishing a formal non-profit entity is not always a viable or sustainable option.

For this reason, Vokal Akademi operates under an individual legal company established by the founder of the initiative. This structure allows us to sustain and grow our work while remaining aligned with our core values and mission.

Our Manisfesto

We believe that art should be accessible to everyone. Collective art production is not only a creative act, but one of the strongest support systems a young adult can have while navigating the everyday complexities of life. Singing together creates connection, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

We create music with a focus on artistic excellence, supported by strong pedagogical approaches and community wellbeing practices. For us, music is both an artistic outcome and a tool for personal and collective growth.

We believe that polyphonic choir culture carries one of the most genuine forms of human artistic expression, and we are committed to expanding and disseminating this culture in Türkiye.

We also believe that this field can and should be a viable professional path. In many parts of the world, collective singing is a sustainable career, and we work towards making this possible for young people here as well. We support singers not only in their wellbeing, but also in shaping their artistic and professional journeys.

We advocate for fair, paid opportunities for choirs and ensure that generated income is shared between singers and the needs of the initiative. At the same time, we contribute to building a wider ecosystem by supporting the development of technical roles such as sound technicians, stage managers, and other essential backstage professionals.

Ultimately, we exist to create a space where individuals can grow, produce, and shape their own artistic universe within a collective structure.
