Gökçe "Che Che" Gürçay

Gökçe "CheChe" Gürçay, is a member of the KeKeÇa Body Percussion Ensemble since 2009 and the drummer of Gevende since 2002. He is also a soundpainter of Istanbul Soundpainting Orchestra since 2012. "CheChe" is an official artist of the International Body Music Festival and he is involved in many projects as a performing artist and comedian. He is the founder of Music Academy of Next Generation, an academy based on soundpainting and body music.

Body percussion, in which the human body is used as an instrument, is combined with vocal melodies. Body sounds, movement mechanisms, melodic structures combine with improvisation and turn into a moving polyphonic body orchestra. The workshop, which will be held by Gökçe "CheChe" Gürçay, Gevende's drummer and member of KeKeÇa Body Percussion Ensemble, prepares a ground for participants to produce their own melodies and experience creative processes. The workshop, where no prior experience is necessary, is located at the intersection of KeKeÇa's "movement-that-creates-sound" approach and international sign language "Soundpainting".
