James Rose
James Rose (they/them) is a prolific arranger, performer, producer, songwriter & educator, based in London. Over the years, James has become a veteran performer of a cappella and vocal harmony, touring worldwide with acclaimed internet sensation group, Accent. James has an extensive portfolio of arrangements and originals for prominent groups, choirs and bands, including The Real Group, Voces8, Naturally 7, The Swingle Singers, Rajaton, Accent, NBC's ‘The Sing Off' winner Committed, The Filharmonic, Arturo Sandoval, Peter Hollens and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain. Driven by a love of teaching, James works as the vocal harmony professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, alongside leading vocal courses internationally with students and choirs worldwide. Instead of sleeping, James also composes for video games, creates musical apps, and is a producer of original electronic music.

Come and sing together a selection of James’ vocal explorations, written to bring singers of all kinds into new experiences and harmonic landscapes. These warm ups have taken the internet by storm, offering a joyful approach to musicmaking, whilst deepening and strengthening key elements of ear training. As a non-binary human, part of James’ journey here will be sharing and exploring different, fluid and more neutral understandings of voice parts to create a sense of freedom and inclusivity for singers of all different kinds.

Welcome to an interactive session where we will share and discuss ideas about how to arrange the song “Moon River”! … and possibly other songs as well. We will sing a few examples from the online workshop with Peder and James, we'll discuss various options and get your input on different choices that could be made to a song. There will also be an open Q&A session. Feel free to prepare what you would like to ask these two masters about arranging! Questions will be collected at the beginning of the workshop. All questions are welcome!
