KeKeÇa

KeKeÇa takes place in the world of body percussion/body music with the "movement that creates sound" approach. Focusing on the natural flow and movements of the body, it is a group that has developed both works in performing arts and methods in education at the intersection of music and dance. Founded by Tugay Başar and Timuçin Gürer, KeKeça has been active since 2002, performing, giving trainings and workshops, participating in international and local projects for culture, arts and education through body percussion and body music. The group holds performances and workshops with diverse groups and ages, including disabled, and disadvantaged individuals. They integrate the audience in their performances and emphasize interactivity. Some of their recent works and collaborations include the IBMF (International Body Music Festival), Pembroke College (Oxford University), Liverpool Biennial, CaixaForum, TED (Turkish Education Association), among many others.
Usûls Through Body Percussion with KeKeÇa

"Usûl"s are rhythm patterns that are used in the classical maqam music in Turkey. At this workshop led by Timuçin Gürer & Gökçe "CheChe" Gürçay, we are going to experience some of the grand cycles of usûls, such as Lenk Fahte (20/8), Evsat (26/8), Zencir (60/4) through Body Percussion.
