Formed in 2016, smyrnAcapella Polyphonic Choir consists of choir members from various professional backgrounds. When the Izmir Branch of the Turkish Polyphonic Choirs Association was established in 2019, the choir continued its activities under the association. The choir met the audience for the first time at the 21st TPKD Turkey Choirs Festival held in Ankara. They have participated and won awards in the SANSEV Istanbul International Polyphonic Choir Festival for three consecutive years since 2017. The choir performed in the festival held in Izmir every year on World Choral Day. They performed with the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra in 2018 and 2019 and with the Olten Philharmonic Orchestra in 2023.
Born in Karabük in 1999, Halil İbrahim Aydın started studying in the Department of Music Education at Ankara Gazi University in 2017. During his education, he performed with important ensembles such as Ankoro, Muammer Sun Mixed Choir, Orfeon Chamber Choir and Saygun Philharmonic Choir. In 2021, Aydın started his master's degree and he currently continues to sing in Choir Turkey and Turkey Youth Choir. In 2022, he became the assistant conductor of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Polyphonic Children's Choir and he began conducting the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Polyphonic Women's Choir in 2023. Currently, he continues her conducting career in TPKD Izmir Branch SmyrnAcappella, TPKD Selluka Women's Choir and Izmir Bar Association Polyphonic Choir.
