An award winning soprano of International Donizetti Opera Competition 1998, conductor, festival adjudicator and teacher- trainer, Dr. Wong has spent over 35 years shaping the vocal arts in Singapore and beyond. From artistic planning for stage productions, leading choirs at Singapore Lyric Opera in the early 2000s to her current work on mentoring young singers and educators across the region, her work continues to inspire generations. Dr. Wong’s passion for story-singing, music and movement beyond genre and stylistic borders has taken powerful form in recent projects such as Losing Lily (2024), an original Singapore chamber opera about dementia that won critical acclaim, and Thrive (2021), a Global Science Opera project blending art, youth voices, and environmental themes. She currently teaches voice at University of the Arts Singapore (LaSalle College of the Arts) and is the owner of OperaAsia: a company that runs vocal training, cultural exchange, professional artistic liaison, community performances and workshops for wellness through singing and movement.
