Basilio Astulez

Basilio Astulez (Spain) has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country and studied music at the Jesús Guridi Conservatory in Vitoria-Gasteiz in Spain. He teaches Choral Singing at the Municipal Conservatory of Leioa and is the founder of the Leioa Kantika Korala children's choir (2001), the La Kantoria female youth choir (2005) and the SJB mixed choir (2007). This young choir school now includes more than 100 singers aged between 9 and 20 years old and has already received numerous awards in both Spanish and European competitions. Astulez is currently a professor of Choral Direction at various conservatories, universities and choral federations in Spain. He is frequently invited as a jury member for international competitions, and to offer courses and seminars on choral singing.
